Hey y’all!!! I have gotten a little behind with my goal of posting a blog after every month…..oops. ( ??????‍?? )

Anyways….without further ado…Month 4 NICARAGUA!!! Nicaragua was a wild month to say the least. It started out as ask the Lord month which meant we had no host, no ministry arrangements, and no destination for where we would staying while there. So as a team we began praying and asking the Lord where He was leading us. I randomly began looking over the map of the country and ended up zooming in on Bluefields. I did some research on the area and discovered that it is one of the main ports in the Caribbean, and there are four main languages. I thought it sounded cool but asked the Lord to confirm it in someway if that’s were He was leading. Two days later someone texted us a list of organizations that we could partner with and one of them was a YWAM base in Bluefields. I immediately reached out to them to see if they would be willing to host us. While waiting for them to respond, my team bumped into another team while at the beach in Costa Rica. They shared with us they had been fasting all day to see where the Lord was leading and He provided them with us and our possible opportunity in Bluefields. The YWAM base responded saying they would gladly accept both teams! Once we arrived at the YWAM base, we were informed that they had been praying to receive a World Race team at Bluefields because they had hosted a team in Panama and El Salvador. They shared that they prayed for a team and received two! We began our 2 week partnership with them and even spent Thanksgiving with them!

While in Bluefields, my team started doing house visits. We ended up meeting a family who welcomed us in their home and showed us their land. They spoke very good English and were excited to show us all the things they had grown on their land! We stared regularly visiting them and every time we saw them, they would go grab their machete and cut down coconuts for us to drink. We would sit on their front porch talking about any and everything while drinking straight from the coconut! One day when we were walking home from visiting them with coconuts in our hands, it started raining. I looked up and saw half my team running down the street with coconuts in hand trying not to spill the open coconut everywhere. They ran past a store that had many people standing outside of it looking and pointing at my friends running in the rain. So I in the little Spanish I knew yelled across the street, “ Mis amigas es muy locas!!” ( my friends are very crazy ) and the guys across the street started laughing so much!! Then I took off running to catch up with them.

During my time in Nicaragua I slept in 5 different beds in 5 different places throughout the whole month. The first 2 weeks of ministry took place in Bluefields and the last 2 weeks of ministry took place in Granda. During our last week in Nicaragua we experienced a lot of changes. We were placed on new teams, and learned that we would no longer be going to South America because of covid restrictions. At the end of the week we would be flying to Eastern Europe starting out in Albania. We also learned that during our travel from Central America to Europe we would have layover in Miami which meant parents would met us in the airport! So my parents and brother meet me in the Miami airport for a total of like 5 hours. I was very thankful to see them!! God is good and full of many surprises!

The last 2 photos are from our time in Granda. We partnered with a ministry that has a heart for the people who work at the city‘s dump. We would have church services for adults and children as well as serve them lunch.

  1. It’s so amazing to hear about the way God is moving in your life. That He hears us when we pray trusting in Him, and that He is working in so many things ahead of time. Truly awesome! Just last night you were on my heart to pray for continued trust, rest, and encouragement in Him. That you would always remember and know that it’s Christ in us that is the hope of Him being seen and known in and through our lives. That He’ll always empower you to be whatever you need to be in whatever situation as long as you lean on Him. These never fails to make my day as I read and see the fruit of God in your life. I love you and I’m praying for you always!

  2. Sweet to look back at our time in Nicaragua! Thank you for sharing your joy, laughter, wisdom, and encouragement with those around you!

  3. I loved this trip back in time to month 4! I did not know the story of how your team ended up in Bluefields. It is definitely one to remember—a testimony of how the Lord led, and your faithfulness in listening and following His voice—and how the Kingdom was impacted as a result.

  4. I love love love seeing your smile and hearing details about your journey! So many beautiful memories! God is faithful! I love that He is showing you that – over and over again. Even when you don’t understand why certain things happen the way that they do, you know that you can always trust HIM!!! I love you!!!
